News trading is allowed with no restrictions. However, if a stock is reporting earnings after market hours or before the market opens the next day, that stock cannot be held overnight during the earnings period.

Copy Trading and Trade Limits

Copy trading is allowed only between two accounts of 50K or lower. The maximum number of positions depends on the program: Day Trade Max allows up to 20 positions, Day Trade Flex allows 10 positions, and Swing allows 5 positions. There must be at least a 30-second gap between buy and sell orders. Every profitable trade must make at least 10 cents per share.

Day Trade Program Rules

In Day Trade programs, all open trades and pending orders will be closed automatically ten minutes before the market closes. Trading is not allowed on halted stocks, including during earnings, and traders must wait at least one minute after a halt is lifted.
