InstaForex at a Glance — Broker Profile & Stats

Who is InstaForex?

Quick answer: InstaForex is a large, long-running broker founded in 2007, with 7,000,000+ clients across the CIS, Asia and emerging markets and 2,500+ instruments. Its EU entity is CySEC-regulated (ICF cover up to €20,000), alongside a BVI arm. It's known for bonuses and contests, though traders should weigh mixed reviews and wide spreads.

Founded: 2007
Clients: 7,000,000+
Popular in: CIS, Asia & emerging markets
Markets: 2,500+ instruments
Known for: bonuses & contests
Why it matters: A very large, long-running broker — but size doesn’t equal trader satisfaction (see the reviews below).

Regulation & Safety

CySEC (Cyprus, EU) — ICF up to €20,000
BVI FSC (international arm)
Choose the EU entity for stronger protection
⚠ Caution: Bank Negara Malaysia lists “Instaforex” on its Financial Consumer Alert List. The entry was added on 13 July 2012 and was still on the list when we checked bnm.gov.my/financial-consumer-alert-list on 17 September 2026. BNM describes that list as a guide to entities “which may have been wrongly perceived or represented as being licensed or regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia” — in plain terms, InstaForex is not authorised by BNM to offer financial services that BNM regulates in Malaysia. BNM’s entry gives the name only, with no company suffix and no website, so it does not single out the BVI arm: read it as applying to the brand in Malaysia rather than to one entity. Separately, the BVI arm carries weaker safeguards than the EU CySEC entity.

Fees, Leverage & Bonuses

Spreads & Commissions

Standard: from ~3 pips EURUSD
ECN: tighter spreads + commission
Wider than ECN brokers on majors
Why it matters: On a 3-pip spread you pay ~$30 per lot — much more than ~$7 at ECN brokers.

Leverage

Up to 1:1000
Lower under the CySEC entity (1:30)
Set by account & region
Why it matters: Very high leverage magnifies losses — use small position sizes.

Bonuses & Promotions

Deposit & no-deposit bonuses
Trading contests
Loyalty rewards
⚠ Caution: Bonus terms are the #1 complaint, so here is the condition in InstaForex’s own words. On its 30% deposit bonus page (instaforex.com/forex_bonus, checked 17 September 2026) the terms table gives “Lots for bonus withdrawal” as X × 3 InstaForex lots, where X is the total amount of all bonuses received — you must trade three InstaForex lots for every unit of bonus credited before the bonus money can be withdrawn. The same table lists profit withdrawal as “Allowed”, maximum bonus amount “Unlimited”, verification “Not required”, maximum leverage 1:1000 and a Stop Out level of 10%. For the no-deposit bonus, instaforex.com/instaforex_bonuses states that profits “become available for withdrawal after you fund the account with real money and meet the required trading volume (lots)”. The X-account bonus (instaforex.com/xbonus) requires a $10 minimum deposit to qualify and allows one deposit per X account, with the multiplier varying by region. Note that InstaForex contradicts itself here: its bonuses landing page says profits made with any bonus “may be withdrawn from the account without restrictions”, which does not match the lots requirement published on the bonus page itself. Get the current terms in writing from support before you opt in. Profits made on bonus funds are sometimes cancelled — read the fine print.

Restricted & Warning Jurisdictions

Where InstaForex Is Restricted or Flagged

InstaForex does not accept US clients, and regulators in some regions have flagged its offshore arm:
USACanadaMalaysia (warning)IranNorth KoreaSyria
⚠ Caution: Bank Negara Malaysia lists “Instaforex” on its Financial Consumer Alert List — added 13 July 2012 and still listed when we checked bnm.gov.my/financial-consumer-alert-list on 17 September 2026. Being on that list means BNM has not authorised InstaForex to offer the financial services BNM regulates in Malaysia. The entry gives the brand name only, with no entity suffix and no website, so it is not limited to the BVI arm. Confirm your country and prefer the CySEC-regulated EU entity where available.

Pros and Cons of InstaForex

Pros
✓ Very low $1 minimum deposit
✓ 7M+ clients · since 2007
✓ 2,500+ instruments
✓ High leverage up to 1:1000
✓ Frequent bonuses & contests
✓ MT4, MT5 & InstaTrader
✓ CySEC EU entity available
✓ PAMM & copy trading
Cons
✗ Poor Trustpilot rating (~2.4/5)
✗ Frequent bonus/withdrawal complaints
✗ Bank Negara Malaysia warning
✗ Wide standard spreads (~3 pips)
✗ Offshore arm = weak protection
✗ No US clients
In short: InstaForex is huge and feature-rich, but its weak Trustpilot score and recurring bonus/withdrawal complaints mean you should tread carefully and avoid bonus traps.

InstaForex Pricing & Account Plans

InstaForex offers a very low entry and many account types, but standard spreads are wide. Use the EU CySEC entity where possible.

AccountSpreadMin depositLeverage
Standard~3 pips$1up to 1:1000Visit Site
ECNtighter + commvariesup to 1:1000Visit Site
Cent~3 pips$1up to 1:1000Visit Site

The $1 minimum is among the lowest anywhere, but on a ~3-pip standard spread the trading cost is high. Active traders will pay far less at an ECN broker.

InstaForex vs IC Markets vs XM

Verdict: InstaForex wins only on its tiny minimum and bonus marketing. On spreads, reputation and trader protection, IC Markets and XM are clearly stronger choices.

InstaForex is a large, long-running broker founded in 2007 with 7M+ clients, especially popular across the CIS and Asia. It offers 2,500+ instruments, a very low $1 minimum, leverage up to 1:1000, frequent bonuses and contests, and a choice of MT4, MT5 and its own InstaTrader platform.

What to weigh: it runs a CySEC-regulated EU arm (with ICF cover) alongside a weaker BVI offshore arm — and Bank Negara Malaysia has issued a warning against InstaForex. Standard spreads are wide (~3 pips), and its Trustpilot rating is poor (~2.4/5), with recurring complaints about bonus terms and cancelled profits.

Who it might suit: traders in emerging markets who want a low entry and don’t rely on bonuses — using the CySEC entity where available and avoiding bonus offers with restrictive terms.

Bottom line: InstaForex is feature-rich and accessible, but the weak reviews and bonus complaints are real drawbacks. For most traders, a better-rated, tighter-spread broker like IC Markets or XM is the safer pick.

⚠ Risk warning: Trading CFDs on high leverage is high-risk. Be especially cautious with bonus offers, and never deposit more than you can afford to lose.
