Is Pepperstone safe?

Pepperstone broker has a Trust Score of 93 and as such is considered safe. It does not operate any banks and is authorized by two tier-1 regulators, two tier-2 regulators, one with high trust and the other average in its performance.

Pepperstone broker is regulated by ASIC in Australia, FCA in the UK, various U.S.-based regulatory agencies including FINRA/SEC & NYSE CIPDEX; other international bodies such as SFC Beijing Branch China Securities Regulatory Commission & HKMAS Hong Kong Securities And Investment Commission; or Japan FSA The Financial Services Authority); NASDAQ Dubai International Market LLC.

Is my money safe with Pepperstone?

Pepperstone is a well-established, trusted broker that has been providing services for many years and holds licenses in different locations including the U.K., EU, Australia, as well as Tier 2 and Tier 3 jurisdictions.

Pepperstone broker has a daily trading volume of more than $9.2 billion, which ensures that 110 thousand retail traders globally trust its service offering; additionally, this makes Pepperstone forex a safe place to deposit your money if you are looking for an investment brokerage firm with reliable services.

The risk of counterparty insolvency is reduced because compensation funds may not be able to cover all client losses in a worst-case scenario (depending on the size of the account balance).

How much does Pepperstone cost?

Pepperstone broker offers a number of account types and trading costs vary depending on which you choose. For example, if the EUR/USD were to be used as an example, with its per-trade commission at 0.7 pips or less (depending on what currency is being traded), After September data was taken into account, Pepperstone spreads for ECN Razor accounts were similar to standard accounts at 0.93 pips using forward contracts).  If you are an active trader and surpass certain monthly trading volume thresholds set by Pepperstone, liquidity rebates may be beneficial in reducing your overall trading cost as they will lower the commissions on these trades from their standard rates – so it’s worth checking them out!

Offering of investments

Of the 1,000 markets that Pepperstone forex offers through MT5, only some of them are unique. There are no crypto-based CFDs available at Pepperstone for retail traders residing in the U.K., nor is there cryptocurrency trading offered as an option at this broker’s UK entities.

Pepperstone Fees and Commissions

Agency-execution broker Pepperstone forex delivers excellent pricing on its Razor account when combined with its Active Trader program for high volume traders. Meanwhile, its Standard account is still not as impressive and features comparably higher pepperstone spreads.

  • Razor account: Pepperstone Razor account is commission-based and offers trading with Pepperstone MT4 or MT5, as well as the Pepperstone cTrader platform. The average spread for EUR/USD on Pepperstone’s Razor account was 0.17 pips in November 2021- slightly higher than the industry average of 0.15 pips – but when commissions are equivalent to 0 output: the Pepperstone razor account follows a commission-based pricing structure and can be used with Pepperstone MT4 or MT5, as well as the Pepperstone cTrader platforms. As of November 2021, it listed an average spread for €/US$ which is just about equal to other averages at ±0.18 pip
  • Standard account: Pepperstone’s Standard account is commission-free, with an average spread of 0.77 pips on the EUR/USD (as of November 2021). Considering Razor’s all-in cost of 0.87 pips (including commission), it becomes clear that Pepperstone’s Standard account is a more affordable alternative to the same service from Razor.
  • Active traders:

Pepperstone’s Active Trader program will rebate a portion of the spread, depending on your monthly trading volume and the corresponding tier.

  • United Kingdom and EU: Professional clients who trade more than $10 million per month are eligible for a Tier One rebate of 5% per lot, which is lowered to 4% in the case of those who trade 500 or more lots.
  • Australia:

Pepperstone offers discounted spreads for Active Trader clients who trade with a minimum of 100 lotsTier One provides a 5% discount on each lot, which reduces the effective spread that would be charged by that amount. If you trade more than 200 standard lots monthly, tier three will provide a 15% reduction on your spread.

Mobile trading apps

The third-party platforms choices on the Pepperstone app can make it easy to trade while out and about. What sets the best brokers apart from their competition is proprietary trading apps, in our opinion of course.

  • Apps overview:

Traders have access to the mobile apps of either MT4 or MT5, which are available from their respective developers on Google Play and the Apple App Store.

Ease of use: Third-party apps reliably deliver a good trading experience, but our testing has found that the highest-ranked brokers offer proprietary mobile apps.

Other trading platforms

We were impressed that Pepperstone offered every third-party product on the market and won Best in Class again.

  • Platforms overview:

Pepperstone offers Meta Trader software, cTrader and cAlgo for your trading needs. You can use it on a desktop or online platform. If you don’t want to trade with the company’s account types, our own algorithms will be available for you too!

  • Charting:

cTrader has a lot of trading tools and can be used on the web, but its standalone cAlgo platform must also be run in parallel with it. Meanwhile, MetaTracker’s desktop version contains an algorithmic trading module that is not found on their web-based counterpart.

  • Trading tools:

Pepperstone offers all of the tools you need to trade smarter, including plugins that work with different trading platforms like MetaTrader. Furthermore, they offer software from reputable providers such as Tradency and myFxbook for Mettatrader. Pepperstone was voted Best in Class four years running starting with 2022 in the Social Copy Trading category.

Market research

Pepperstone has a good balance of research coverage across both video and written formats. Their quality is above the industry average, but not as robust as IG’s or Saxo Bank’s offerings.

  • Research overview:

At Pepperstone, traders have the opportunity to explore our exclusive content and third-party tools including Autochartist for pattern recognition and trading signals, Delkos for risk management If you have an account balance of at least AUD 500, then the Smart Trader Tools suite will be available to you. This includes features like sentiment indicators.

  • Market news and analysis:

For daily technical and fundamental analysis, articles and videos, check out Pepperstone’s in-house research. You will find everything you need on the cTrader platform across our website and YouTube channel.

Education

Pepperstone has a respectable, though not extensive, array of webinars and videos. One category they have is “Trading Guides” which features 40 articles that are not organized by experience level.

Pepperstone offers 12 platform tutorials, 10 webinars each month, and an archive of webinars on YouTube. The quality of the educational content is high but it’s in line with what you might find elsewhere for this category.

It would be great if these learning materials were more accessible and useful. Adding interactive courses that track progress and include quiz questions would certainly make a difference. Organizing articles in sections by experience level is also helpful to see where you stand with your knowledge of the topic or subject matter.

Pros Explained

  • Pepperstone advertises a range of spread options, starting from one pip for the “Standard” account with no commissions or zero pip spreads for the “Razor” account.

  • Pepperstone offers “negative balance protection” for its U.K. clients only (for some reason…). The catalyst for this was most likely the Swiss National Bank event of January 15th in 2015, which rocked Pepperstone markets and especially retail traders who were leveraged on risky trades.

  • cTrader gives you direct liquidity-provider pricing, advanced features like detachable charts and automated backtesting capabilities.

Cons Explained

  • One thing that is important to mention about our website is that it has a good feel. There are some pages with incorrect, outdated and incomplete information which can be corrected easily. These protect traders from market gaps and many brokers are willing to offer this for an extra charge but take on the risk themselves.

Conclusion - Pepperstone Review

As a forex and CFD broker, Pepperstone has been making waves in the market. What’s so great about them? They offer spread betting available to traders in Ireland and Great Britain. This lack of a proprietary app is what holds it back from competing with some of the best brokers around.

Pepperstone continues to expand its range of fifth market options for traders. They offer a Pepperstone trading platform enriched by either MetaTrader 4 or C Trader (but they do not have an official app). The low minimum deposit requirements make this broker great for all levels, and their services are beginner-friendly.
