Take Profit Trader Review
Take Profit Trader (TPT) is a US futures prop firm in Florida: you pay a monthly fee for a Test ($150 to $360, or 40% less with NOFEE40), pass in as few as 3 trading days, then withdraw from day one of your PRO account at an 80% split (90% on the live PRO+ account). The catches: a buffer you must build before withdrawing, a 50% consistency rule on the Test and a $130 activation fee unless your code waives it.

What are the PRO and PRO+ account rules?
News Trading Rules
During the Test, news trading is allowed. On PRO and PRO+ you must be flat, with no open orders, from one minute before to one minute after FOMC statements (Wednesdays 2:00 PM ET), Non-Farm Payrolls (Fridays 8:30 AM ET) and CPI. Fed speakers and FOMC minutes are allowed. The events are listed on the trader calendar in your dashboard.
Bots and Trade Copiers
Bots and algorithms are not allowed on PRO accounts; every trade must be placed by hand. Trade copiers are allowed only across your own accounts, using approved tools such as Tradesyncer, TradeCopia, Replikanto (Compliance Edition) or the platform’s own copier.
No Counter Positions Rule
You cannot hold opposite positions in the same or closely related products (for example ES and MES) across any accounts you control. TPT says both accounts are liquidated automatically, and profits can be forfeited.
Inactivity and CME Price Limit Rules
To keep a PRO or PRO+ account, trade at least one day each calendar week (Sunday to Friday). If a CME limit up or limit down is hit while you are still in a position, you lose the account, so exit before a limit is reached.
PRO Drawdown and Buffer
PRO accounts use an intraday trailing drawdown that follows open profits in real time until it reaches your starting balance. The drawdown is the same size as on your Test. You can withdraw once your balance is above the buffer, which equals the drawdown (for example $52,000 on a $50K account).
PRO+ (Live Account) Overview
PRO+ is a live account at Tradovate, offered by invitation after a review of your trading. It pays 90%, uses end-of-day drawdown and has no buffer. It starts at a $0 balance, and $5,000 of your PRO profit is held back while PRO+ is active. Traders with aggressive risk may be placed in PRO+ Development, with smaller size limits and a $500 to $2,000 daily loss pause.

How much does a Take Profit Trader account cost?
Take Profit Trader charges a monthly subscription for the Test: $150 for $25K, $170 for $50K, $245 for $75K, $330 for $100K and $360 for $150K (checked 22 Sep 2026). The subscription renews on the same day each month until you pass or cancel it, and it does not cancel itself if you break a rule. Once you pass, you pay a one-time $130 PRO activation fee, and there is no monthly fee on PRO.
With the NOFEE40 code, a $50K Test is $102 a month and the activation fee is waived, so passing in the first month costs $102 in total. Extra costs to plan for: Test resets ($79 to $199), PRO resets ($449 to $1,499) and a $50 fee on withdrawals of $250 or less. See how this compares with the cheapest prop firms.
How do Take Profit Trader payouts work?
On a PRO account you can withdraw from day one, with no minimum profit days, no payout window and no maximum. First you must build a buffer equal to your drawdown; after that you keep 80% of what you withdraw (90% on PRO+, which has no buffer).
| Account | Balance needed before you can withdraw |
|---|---|
| $25K | $26,500 |
| $50K | $52,000 |
| $75K | $77,500 |
| $100K | $103,000 |
| $150K | $154,500 |
Money inside the buffer can only be taken when you close the PRO account for good: you get 50% of it within 60 trading days of opening the account, or 80% after that. Payouts go to a US bank through Plaid, or by PayPal or Wise, and the name must match your TPT account. TPT says the account-to-wallet step on Tradovate PRO accounts now takes 5 to 10 seconds once you are flat, and bank payouts usually arrive within one business day.

Take Profit Trader’s main draw is getting paid early: you can withdraw from the first day of your PRO account, with no payout window, no minimum profit days and no maximum, and the account-to-wallet step is now automated. It scores 4.4 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 10,660 reviews (22 Sep 2026), and PRO+ gives consistent traders a live Tradovate account at 90%.
